I’ve always been a champion of the environment. That led me to work for Save The Bay in southern New England where I founded my blog, Eco-Mothering, in 2008. My motivation was two-fold: to document my one-year-old daughter’s life while connecting with others on the parenting journey and to share eco-friendly information with a larger community. As an introvert with a desire to change the world, I found blogging the perfect venue for me to speak out.
My eight years behind Eco-Mothering was an expansive journey of environmental issues, social media, business partnerships and bloggers from around the world.
Out of that came my self-published book, "The Guilt-Free Guide to Greening Your Holidays," which explores the history and meaning of major American holidays and offers eco-friendly tips and inspiration for greening traditional celebrations from January through December. Available on Amazon.
I have been a blog contributor to ecoRI News, Earth911 and MammaBaby where I write about low-waste living and parenting. I am also a former member of Mom Bloggers for Social Good and Green Sisterhood, a powerful group of passionate women who write about environmental issues and their impact on society.
